Love is, love is, love is, love is who you love!

Love is in the air this month as the world celebrates Valentine's Day. While traditions may vary globally, we ALL celebrate LOVE.

I want to acknowledge the privilege we as humans have to feel and share love. Do you realize how special this actually is? Romantic love, the long-term bonding between humans is unusual among mammals. While humans and all other mammals share one kind of love, the bond between a mother and her offspring, romantic love is unique. I don't have to tell you that wink wink! Each of us knows how hard finding true love really is.

In 1862, Emily Dickinson wrote, "The heart wants what it wants, or else it does not care."

So eloquently stated, I think. It suggests that our emotional inclinations and attractions are beyond rational explanation or societal norms. And there so lies the key! We must embrace that love is unpredictable and uncontrollable. No person, or institution can tell our heart who, and who not, to love.

Let's celebrate this ultimate magic! For true love is the greatest luxury on earth...
